Elliott's Hardware in Dallas

Good selection. Couldn't get help for 20-30 minutes, two employees working on Sunday afternoon -- one with headphones in putting a display model together and another on her phone, neither of whom ever looked up. They have spots on the shelf for the obscure adapter I needed, but all brass gas line fittings I could have used were either out of stock or in the wrong drawer, whole section needs to be resorted and/or restocked.

Great, old school hardware store. Bolt and nut sizes that Home Depot does not have.

Wilborn, the Manager, runs a top notch customer service operation. He is very helpful and goes above and beyond to locate product needed. You don’t have to look for someone to help you unlike other competitors. Highly recommend shopping at Elliot’s!!!

I'm a long time client that purchases between 1k- 2k of products per week ,specifically Mohawk products. I pay with card or Check . I had a emergency aand time sensitive project to be completed by tomorrow and I rushed to Ellliots around 6pm to pick up $300 worth of products to help complete this project. I had a check to pay, im known for my money to Never bounce . The cashier was new , she hasn't ever processed the check before , she called the manager for help. I actually saw Gabriel (manager)and greeted to him, while he was in the paint area when I came in. I could hear him over the mic and by ear Directing the cashier that "Elliotts doesn't accept checks " and that he doesn't trust my checks. Fun that earlier this week I paid with a check and today 1/6/25 I paid with a Check of $400 in products. Because of his laziness and poor management, I had to leave $300 of products behind and call other suppliers for help. I got help , but not from Ellliots and finished the project at 1Am in the morning. Because I had to wait for suppliers to supply my time of emergency. Ellliots need to retrain Gabriel into being a more effective team player, if they wish for more loyal customers . Thank you

Found what I needed (small sheet metal/mechanical fasteners) owing to recommendation from an employee from a discount hardware retailer! Staff shortage meant I couldn't get the sales advice/help that I needed here.

Many items here belong to categories that the nationwide discounters willingly decline to carry owing to economics. Appreciate the fact that Elliott's offers these in single quantities (at reasonable prices). Why buy online in lots of 100 when one needs only a few?

Will definitely give one of the sparsely distributed Elliott's stores the first option for my infrequent hardware purchases.

Great store. It reminded me of running errands with my parents as a kid. Imo it’s nicer than big brand hardware stores depending on what you need.

I stopped by on Wednesday to get help with a missing car battery mount screw. Frank assisted me. He went out of his way to figure out what size I needed and even installed it. He was very patient with me. I didn't even know how to open my hood. Neighborhood business, neighborly service. Frank is such an asset to Elliots.

Although I do like the store itself, I do not recommend the paint department. I’ve been there twice and had bad experiences with the mixing of the paint. The first time I picked out a color to be mixed. I got it in flat and eggshell but same color. Got home and noticed the two paints had totally different shades of the same color after the person in the paint department told me they were the same. I didn’t make a big deal and just ate the cost of the gallon of paint I didn’t use. I ran out of the other gallon of paint and decided to go back and buy a pint of the same paint to spot some areas. I took the empty can back to make sure this didn’t get messed up. Get home and now I have three different shades of the same color paint. Didn’t notice it until after the spot painting I did from this new pint dried and did not match! Now my entire room and ceiling has patchy looking paint all over! I’ve never had this issue at any other store that sells paint. If I get the same brand paint, same base, same color and everything else, why is it different each time here???? Now I have to go buy yet another gallon of paint from somewhere else and paint this entire room again to cover this! I am beyond livid. Training on how to properly mix paint at this store is needed!

Update: Very impressed with how swiftly management went over and beyond to ensure the issue I previously had was corrected. Thank you so much Mr. Welman for all your help! I will continue to shop with Elliot’s Hardware! :-)

Need a metric screw with a pan head, beveled tip, carbon steel, black, glossy finish, with wing nut? They got it. But the question is why do you need 🤔 something like that. Get a life.

Actually, you will find people at Elliott who know how to help you solve the most unique, challenging needs you can imagine.

I made a order purchase.
When I went to pick it up the following day. It was not ready when I went to go. Pick it up the very next day. After that I was told the order was never put in then. I was told it was gonna be refunded and when I called up there. They still have not even done that.

Had a great experience shopping at Elliott’s Hardware! I was looking for a solution for a missing piece for a decorative item. I went to lots of stores looking for a replacement item but nowhere was staff as helpful as Welmon and his team at Elliott’s. I left the store with the part and the decorative item ready to be used!

Huge selection and fantastic employee assistance in the fasteners section! Our movers lost much of our bunk bed hardware. After three weeks of our boys sleeping on the floor next to a pile of bed pieces, I wondered if we’d ever get that bed reassembled. Let's face it - Elliot's Dallas is the best hardware store. Period. Haven't been to the other 3 but if they are HALF as good as Dallas, they will still kick every big box store to the curb. Not only do they have what you need, they have what you didn't know you needed. Support your Local/Regional stores, because we've all been inside a big box store and you know what good time that is. I'm joking. You do not want only big box stores in your future. Do I have an axe to grind? Sure! And if I need it sharpened - Guess what - I'd take that to Elliot's too b/c they offer Blade & Chain Sharpening, Glass Cutting, Grill Assembly & Delivery, and
Key Cutting. NO I do not work there, I wasn't paid. I am a new customer and have been there 6-plus times. Happy EVERY time ! Elliot's just needs to make a T-Shirt and I'll start wearing that too. :)

Had an issue with a Big Green Egg fire box being cracked and called Elliotts hardware to order a new one. Welmen Mays informed me that it might be under warrantee, checked with BGE and they got me a new fire box at no charge. Welmen could have easily sold me one but instead did the right thing and got mine under warrantee. Elliotts and Welmen did the right thing for me!!!! Highly recommend both of them.

Kimmie is the BEST door and cabinet hardware person you will find. Their prices are very competitive. You cannot get the knowledge and customer service that you get here any where else in Dallas.

They always have what you need and don't need. It is hard to get out of there without buying a bunch of stuff!

Elliott's had EVERYTHING I needed. The nuts, bolts & all that were well organized with parts numbers you can write on a bag and throw everything in for quick n easy ring up at the counter.

They also have quality gaffers tape. If you're in the film, TV, production, photography or entertainment industries, you'll appreciate it.

Went today at 5:45 to get a few last minute bolts for a crib I’m putting together. Saw the older lady who works there lock the door at 5:45 and walk away just as I was heading in. I waited outside til 6 and called hoping she would come back to let me in. I know y’all close at 6 on a Saturday, but I arrived 15 minutes before close. 4 other customers plus me also came to the door trying to make purchases. 5 customers lost to your employee wanting to lock up and leave early! Everyone trying to get in was confused why the door was locked prior to closing time.

Nice selection but the quality of service was disappointing. People were clueless.

I'm never disappointed when I go to Elliots. They always have everything I need whether it be something I can get at a big chain hardware or just one screw or nail. I always feel a bit of nostalgia when shopping here. Awesome place!

The unusual, the hard to find is at Elliott's. So much better than the big box stores. The personnel willing to help & know where the products are. This store is now my go-to! The only thing people need to remember is that the entrance is on the south side of the building. The doors facing the street cannot be entered. Yes, there are signs on the doors, but it's a long walk around to the "front!"

Horrible service. We asked a gentleman for help because we wanted to purchase some equipment. He went and called someone else. Then that person said that the manager will come and help. After waiting for over 20 minutes I went and asked for the manager only for them to tell me that they did not have a manager and that they will be in on Monday.

Went for cabinet hardware and after searching through the store finally found an employee. When I asked if someone could help me with hardware I was told “she’s not here today” in a very dismissive tone of voice. There was no sign up in the hardware dept or any indication on the website that you can’t buy hardware just anytime. Don’t waste your time coming here to buy hardware— apparently you need to call ahead or just find somewhere else.

Usually a good place, but today not so good. I went to the register to check out and the girl with blue hair was asking me how much something was!!! LAZY,AND DONT WANT TO WORk.

Was provided with great customer service by the two ladies working here. The moment I walked through the door I was greeted with a "how may I help you?" and "if you need anything, please let us know". I found what I was looking for and if I couldn't find it then someone was there to assist me. This place is loaded btw! There is so much stuff here for a hardware store. I will be coming back here to work on any household projects I have.

Really used to enjoy coming to this store (and previous location) because everyone who worked there was extremely knowledgeable and someone was always available to help/answer questions (unlike the big box hardware stores). Last 2 times I've visited, I had to really work to track down someone to help - and when they finally did help, they knew less than I did regarding my question. Elliot's was one of the last real hardware stores with great service. It's a real shame to see the service fall off so severely.

That said, they still do have those hard to find items.

Went to buy a 1 nut and was thrown out of business by cashier yelling about wearing a mask. I called DPD he said, their is no mask mandate. I went to Lowe's where you have freedom to spend your money while breathing.

I used to LOVE going to Elliott’s Hardware: friendly, knowledgeable people that made doing diy projects a lot less difficult. I had one close to my office and enjoyed it so much, that I would go there sometimes just to browse and get inspiration for new projects…How things have changed! Because of my great past experience, I went there today to get some house numbers. And what I encountered were some of the most unfriendly, least helpful people ever, from finding what I was looking for (it took me 4 attempts to get the information where the items were located) to plain wrong information (I asked if templates were included and was told no - but then found out they were) to telling me that I had to wait for the bosses boss to get permission to open one of the packages to see if they contained installation instructions, and was told by him that there were no instructions in the package - when of course there were! The super helpful answer from one of the employees was, that they never used instructions anyway, but just put things on whatever way it worked out.

We had purchased a key for the water the kind that opens and closes the main water ,where the meter is located ,we were returning it cause it didn't work , Vanessa the clerk up front immediately asked have you used it no I replied,she says while holding it ,it looks like it has been used,anyway another sales woman comes and says to her I heard you that's why I'm here , it was a big deal made out of it she even took it to Lety ,and she said give them the money ,it was paid on debit card ,we had even taken the other key we purchased that fitted it so she asks why doesn't it fit I showed her the other key and position it and she says well we don't have that one here, she later days it just looks dirty and we won't be able to sell it and it was special order so we're not even supposed to take it back ,so if you take something back to store it has to be cleaned ,I was not treated with respect I felt like if we were lying,but now we know.
The issue here is not about the merchandise it's about how clean it was which I tell you it wasn't dirty just handled with a person doing a job ,it was sad they would get worked up about such a all value of a thing.

Clean store with everything you need for your garden, home improvement, tools and hardware!

It's not what it used to be but still the gold standard for hardware stores. Smaller selection than big box stores but carries items that the big boxes don't. If they don't have what you want, they probably know where to find it.

I was able to find horticultural corn gluten, dry molasses and corn gluten with garlic at Elliott's Dallas store. This helps with organic gardening regimens.

A little bit of everything, even some things that other places don't have.

You #1 on everything I was searching for when I came thru the doors.

Very rude customer experience. Is the lady that works on the afternoon. I'm a always return customer here at the store. We have a family own construction business but after this I will not be coming back in here.
And is not just one day that I have received this experience with her is every time I come here.

I'm not even sure where to begin. I spoke with 3 employees and received no help to resolve my problem. My wife bought me a chainsaw 3 weeks ago for my birthday. Unbeknownst to her, I had already borrowed my neighbors chainsaw to finish a project I was working on. I had no use for the one she had bought so I brought it back to return so I could get myself something else for my birthday. The first employee I spoke with at the register needed someone else to process the return. She paged him about 10 times, then sent me through the store to find him. He came to the register finally and told me my item was ineligible for a return or even store credit. Nowhere on my receipt or invoice was this stated. I called my wife and she told me that no one notified her of the mere 7 day window, the chainsaw was able to be returned in. She bought it 5 days before my birthday, so by the time I received the gift, I only had 2 days according to this employee to return the item. I asked to speak with a manager and he told me the same thing blaming the manufacturer for their return policy. If this were Home Depot or Lowes, they would accept the unused item back or at least be very clear at the point of purchase about all of the limitations and conditions. I consider this fraud. Had my wife known of the stipulations, she never would have made the purchase. We have clearly been taken advantage of. We will not be coming back and I suggest you go elsewhere as well. If it was posted, it was not clear and the staff absolutely did not make sure my wife was aware of the conditions before the purchase. Instead, they just blame the manufacturer and take no responsibility for taking care of their customers. When a business values their distributors over their customers, its a failure.

Disappointing. I've heard good things about Elliott's for years, so I went there hoping to find parts to repair an old style bi-fold door.

I walked in on a weekday with expectations that this is going to be better than Home Depot or Lowe's. Nope! Came in direct contact with three employees and not a single one asked if I needed help. When I finally asked for help, the lady looked at my door parts and said "you'll just have to look through this catalog and see if anything looks like that." Wow.

Good place to find specialty items to fix your house.

This place is an old school type hardware store a great place to find odd hard to find fittings and basic hardware. The staff while sometimes a bit scarce are very knowledgeable and helpful in finding whatever odd connector or pipe fitting you need. Where Elliot's really shines is in their selection decorative hardware from bathroom fixtures to pulls, knobes and handles. While the carry alot in the store they have the resources to find that perfect door knob be it modern or antique . I have a hard time every time I go in not to go over to the display kiosks and walls of samples of any knob towel bar hook ,pull or shelf u can't think of and look thru it all even if I only came in for a hose gasket.

very pleasant place to shop at. The customer service was excellent, all of them made the visit a great experience. They teach you about their products, they are very informative. I enjoyed that part, they raised the bar for Home depot and Lowe’s for sure.

Been shopping with them for 10 years. Moe is the most knowledgeable guy.

Had exactly the odd sized bolt I needed. Clerk knew right where to find it. Bingo! Neither big box home improvement store had it.

I was referred to Elliot's by Home Depot (they didn't have the special bolts that I needed) I didn't catch the gentleman's name, but he was very very helpful in finding everything that I needed. Sometimes you go to stores and people just "work there." No he was an expert in each area. They have beautiful hardware for DIY projects or just revamping your home period. They have all of the manly supplies as well 😏
