Ivey Lumber Sales in Dallas
10230 Plano Rd, Dallas, TX 75238
Family owned and serving Dallas with lumber and hardware since 1956.
I purchased 60 Trex composite boards from Ivey for a new deck. About $60 each. There were 6 boards left over. Ivey will not accept returns. Unless you know exactly how many boards you need, I would recommend you do not buy from Ivey. Buy from Lowe’s instead at a slightly lower price, and Lowe’s DOES accept returns.
Ivey Lumber Sales has been a great landlord for us at Open To Public HVAC Parts. They’re genuinely good people who care about their tenants. Communication has always been easy, and they’re quick to address any concerns we have. On top of that, their lumber quality is impressive. If you’re in need of reliable materials, Ivey Lumber is definitely worth checking out!
Excellent service. Very good prices on wood...very good store.
My husband was there getting a board He paid for the board and went to another building to get the board but the boards were very bad so he went back to the building to get his money back and they didn't give him all the money back.
So it's like they like stealing money from people. He will not be going there ever again. Very bad customer service
I called on a whim looking for window glazing bead when the only place that knowingly sells it wasn’t open and not answering the phone. They not only had glazing bead in different colors but they also have anything you could need for a diy project, or even a small job. 10/10 I will make the drive 30 miles again. Thank y’all!
Just popped in one day to pick up Benjamin Moore paint and I was so pleasantly surprised by the incredibly kind and helpful staff. Immediately I was greeted and helped with finding what I had been driving all over Dallas looking for! Such a wonderful atmosphere, I would highly recommend this store and their staff!
I guess they don't want my business. I keep asking for a lumber guy iv dealt with in the past. They have hung up on me trying to transfer me now twice.... . call back and now the "stoner" on the phone said he would call me back. However, he never took my number down..... lol I guess you don't want a $2000 order. UPDATE: The good reviews on here must be bots or employee working there. There is no way a person can take this company seriously. Finally had to call back up there to get my quote. They never even called their supplier for my order i placede yesterday!?! I then tell him my order again. Calles back an hour later with only half of what told him to quote... I asked the kid what is he smoking and can I get some.... I guess as long as you can fog a mirror Ivey lumber will hire you.
RICH is the absolute best!!! So friendly and helpful!! For someone who knows very little about lumbar, he made my project so easy! From a very professional phone call, to assistance in the store, it was a wonderful experience with RICH from start to finish!!! Thank you Rich!!

Knowledgeable and friendly folks there. Didn’t even finish my sentence and they knew exactly what I needed.

Awesome lumber yard with a great reputation. I would highly recommend buying here and dealing with this well knowledged staff.
just now i talk with him & then i tell about me as well as about my company. So then he use abuse words.
Love Ivey! My guess is any bad reviews are people who don't do large scale business or don't understand how things work. We've always had a great relationship with them!

Vary poor customer services
We have been doing business with Ivey Lumber for a long time. We usually call ahead to ask what's currently in stock for select lumber. Great customer service.
Ivey's is a convenient neighborhood lumberyard/hardware store in the northeast part of Dallas. They've been in business forever and have a friendly group of employees. They're a good and necessary alternative to the Home Depots and Lowes.
Came into to get trim pieces for my door, a guy that was there ask what we looking ask him but only answer back with one word back, as if he couldn’t suggest anything else. Where is the customer service in that? Then he talk to us as if we knew what we wanted nope nothing and the manager as well no customer service or nothing. I’m a manager myself and i would not treat my customers like that. Left so uncomfortable and especially with my mother that couldn’t communicate with them. Horrible experience seem like the only people that know how to give customer service are the people working in the back house.
Was great place to shaping
They help ok.
hey descubri esto y es buenisimo...
They had everything we needed. They even cut the lumber for us. All with a smile!
Phenomenal customer service and the best price on Benjamin Moore paint in town. The friendliest people work here too!
Been going to this place for years, good service.
It's a little pricey, but they carry a lot of things you can't get at home Depot, and the service is wonderful. The staff is really knowledgeable as well. They also work directly with several manufacturers and suppliers giving them the ability to get directly ordered items quickly.

Ive been doing business here over 30 yrs. Prices good. Service even better. Go in place order at lumber counter then pay pull around back and they load you up. No cart fighting thru store. Bigger selection of siding & trim than big box stores. I highley recommend them. Many contractors prefer them.
Friendly staff and quality lumber at a good price. I'll never buy lumber from a big box atore again.
Great place I've been going there since 1992 when they were back at the other shop
I shopped at Ivey for the first time, yesterday. Here's what I liked.
1. They stack their unfinished lumber properly: laying flat as to maintain straightness, and to reveal and protect the end-grain — not standing up, as to save horizontal shelf-space and to promote warping. Also, all their lumber is protected from the weather, under cover of a building.
2. As a result, their lumber is straighter than any other seller I've visited. Among the scores of cedar boards I looked through, I saw a few slightly bowed ones and a couple of slightly crowned ones, but that's it: no twisters at all, and no cupping big enough to give me pause. How's your luck been at the big-box stores in this regard?
3. They carry the proper dimensions of lumber: their 1x appearance boards are the industry-standard 3/4" thick — not 11/16" or even 5/8", as they tend to be at the Big Orange & Big Blue. (Have you ever tried to repair a 3/4"-thick fascia by inserting a length of 5/8"-thick board? "#&@*! Never again!")
4. Their prices are close to what the typical price was before the Obama tariff-increase and major wildfires. (I saved about 35% on cedar boards at Ivey, as compared to not only the Big Orange and Blue but also the lumber yard down the street!) This is mainly thanks to their high volume of soft lumber on hand; methinks it's also a reflection of high ethics.
5. Their service was exceptional. Every employee was genuinely, pleasantly responsive or proactive in their assistance. They seemed highly knowledgeable, as well.
Only one negative (if you can call it that): I wish they were open later on weekdays.
Not only did they have exactly the name-brand I was looking for (Harris Roach Dust), it was also about $4 cheaper here than on Amazon! How many times can you say that?
Love this place. So much better than buying warpwood at Home Depot and Lowes.... just wish they were open Sundays.
Since I was a little kid these guys have been great. The two brothers parted way years ago with their two locations but they were always great. My first building material account for roofing materials was here.
