Once the work is authorized the job moves along promptly and communication with the job superintendent is easy and done on a promise made promise kept basis. The finished product is beautiful and low stress to own and swim in.
We have continued with Summerhill for weekly maintenance service after years of doing it myself. The truth is the pool has never looked better. The service tech arrives after a text notification and takes care of what is needed: skimming, vacuuming, water chemistry, filter service. I strongly recommend Summerhill for weekly maintenance and remodeling .

He came back with a plan and beautiful 3-D rendering of the pool and extended covered patio, both day and night lit. After some minor tweaking, we were ready to choose materials and begin construction. Construction took a little longer than expected because of the weather, but also because we had another backyard project that coincided with the pool build that was outside Summerhill's scope. Summerhill, graciously worked around the other contractor's schedule so that both installs would go smoothly. The construction crew was respectful of our property and left it in good order daily. We have had continued to have a good rapport with all Summerhill employees, including designer-Bryce, automation-Chris, weekly maintenance-Emmanuel, and Director of Client Services-Carrie).

We had an incredible experience with Summerhill! Bryce put together design options, one of which we fell in love with and ultimately selected. Bryce makes a YouTube video that simulates what your pool will look like which really helped us visualize the pool in our yard. We received 4 quotes, no other pool builder put together as extensive of a proposal as Summerhill. They were the only company to provide a simulated video. I highly recommend you check out their YouTube channel. We checked references and went to see one of their builds near us in Lakewood, which is stunning. After we selected our design, Bryce gave us great tile/coping suggestions. Summerhill was extremely quick to apply for permits and start our build. From start to finish our pool build and turf installation was 3 months to the day! We broke ground February 1 and were swimming May 1 (with two snowstorms during that time!). We had a smooth build, only a few minor things that they had to fix which they fixed immediately. We have had ZERO issues with our pool and are about 5 months into enjoying it every day. Highly recommend Summerhill and happy to serve as a reference!

A big thanks to Chris for his help with and work on our pool equipment. He quickly diagnosed the problem that has taken several months to find and cure. This is a pool equipment repair review. Pump was drawing air, impeller on the A&A actuator valve would get stuck when changing popup zones, leaves would just sit around the main drain instead of being pulled in. Had a tech from a competitor come out, to the tune of over $200 - failed to diagnose, let alone fix. The Summerhill office was prompt in sending out their tech, it was a same-day visit on a Friday before the holidays! Within minutes, the Summerhill tech diagnosed and repaired the issue. Impeller spins, pump draws water, not air, everything is good now. Will definitely use Summerhill again when the equipment goes sideways.

Summerhill has done an amazing job transforming our backyard, which had a very tricky hill and retaining wall situation, into a dream oasis. Bryce and Jacob did an incredible job helping us design and bring our vision to life!

Summerhill has been servicing our pool for over a year now. We switched to them from another company. They have provided stellar service. The staff is always friendly both on the phone and in person. We also had a problem with our pool plumbing that another company essentially made worse than when it started. Summerhill came and provided a temporary fix so we could continue to use the pool while we waited on a replacement filter to correct the problem. Highly recommend them for all your pool needs.

Summerhill is outstanding. We had a pool motor burn out in the Texas sun and were referred to Summerhill by a neighbor. They answered the phone within the first two or three rings, had a appointment time that was perfect for my schedule (they offered a slot for the following day if I could make it), and replaced the pump with a brand new unit for a very competitive price. Their technician was great. Arrived exactly on time, answered all my questions, and my new pump is running perfectly. I couldn't be happier with this company.

Summerhill was hired to re-do our pool. Plaster, deck, coping, etc. The quality of the job was generally fine except that the installation of the plaster (we used Marquis Magic at their suggestion) was botched and within 6 months was significantly discolored and cracked. To our surprise, the company would not stand behind the job saying that it was a chemistry problem. A TOTAL cop-out. Our pool service company is very reputable and they said early on that the plaster did not look right. The color of the plaster isn’t even close to the color we selected. It was never right from the start. Easy for Summerhill to blame the pool service. They would not stand behind their work, putting us in the middle between them and the pool service company. BUYER BEWARE. They charge you $750 dollars for pool startup which is a joke as well. If we had to do it again, we would hire someone else. Very disappointing that they didn’t even try to correct the issue. A horrible way to do business.

UPDATE: I am happy to report that Summerhill contacted us and quickly dealt with our issue. They were very responsive and handled the plaster situation fairly by agreeing to fix the problem at no cost to us. Impressive response that deserves recognition. We even have hired them to handle our weekly pool servicing. We recommend Summerhill Polls!

Very much enjoyed our experience with Summerhill. They were very professional and worked hand-in-hand with us throughout the process. Bryce, David and Jacob were a pleasure to work with. Anytime we faced any challenges, they were on top of it. Very pleased with the overall process and the outcome - the end result matched what we agreed to on paper.

From the very start, Summerhill emerged as an honest and responsive company to work with, guiding an easy design process and answering all of our first-timer questions along the way. We built in spring 2022, when pools were taking much longer to finish due to supply constraints, but Summerhill started our build in late Feb and had us swimming by May! We continue to use them for our servicing, because they left such a great impression on customer service.

Very responsive and great to work with. With all construction projects there are pains but they work with you through it all. The design and images of what it will look like are a perfect match to the finished product. We love the result and are glad we chose Summerhill.

I am so happy with my experience with Summerhill Pools! Our pool was challenging to design because of the limitations of the small size of the lot, located up a hill, and replacing an existing patio. But they were up to the task! The result is beautiful and my grandkids are loving it!!

I did lots of research and met with three companies . They were so fast in their proposal and design that I didn’t even wait on the third quote to come back. We had a pool within about 8 weeks or so after we began. They are the best. We also use them for maintenance.

We have loved our experience with Summerhill Pools. First of all, they were the first pool company we got a bid from who stepped outside of the box from a design standpoint. Their sales representative and design guru was extremely creative and patient when solidifying what I had in mind. Their construction team were craftsmen from start to finish. We couldn't be more pleased with the final outcome. Beyond that, Summerhill goes above and beyond to stand behind their product and the customer service across the board has been very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend them!

We worked with Summerhill Pools on a pool design for weeks. The final estimate was nearly double of the initial estimate and Summerhill insisted on unnecessary elements to be added such as Piers - when there is no evidence that it is necessary with so many people in my zipcode building pools without piers . When we pushed back and tried to negotiate, we were abruptly ghosted by the project manager - after so many weeks of working together, they deleted our design - the whole thing was absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful. I would be very cautious proceeding with this company for such a major project.

Updated final comment - this huge explanation given by Summerhill below should have been given to us directly in response to our last email to them. To ghost us with zero negotiation and explanation is - once again - utterly unprofessional. Please learn how to professionally bring a business conversation to a conclusion before you burn bridges. Our community is tight and I will be sure to share my experience with my neighbors.

We absolutely love our custom-designed and built SummerHill Pool! They made the perfect escape oasis of our tiny backyard, which is now enjoyed by our whole family, including our dogs who enjoy their own design features. If you don’t use Summerhill to build your next pool you are totally crazy! They did a fantastic job with the design, they were reasonably priced and I loved how nice and communicative they were doing the whole process! If we ever build anymore future pools or backyard redesign they will always be who I call!

Summerhill worked with us every step of the way. Their whole team was very responsive and helpful with all our questions and concerns. Our pool is beautiful! We get so many compliments on it and we absolutely love it!

Can’t say enough about this team. Bryce walked us through the design process and turned our vision into a reality. The video rendering he did before construction matched the final product. He also connected us with landscaping and lighting to finish the look. I did a lot of searching before committing to Summerhill and I’m confident we made the right decision. We continue to use them for our weekly pool service. Also, a neighbor was complaining about their pool company and asked us about Summerhill. The neighbor ended up switching their service and are happy with their choice. All around these are good people.

This is the 3rd pool that we have had build and this experience was by far the of all, Summerhill exceeded expectations in all phases of the project. Wow. Terrible experience & refusal to honor warranty. I’m happy to share my notebook full of mistakes, problems & issues during and after the 11-month long process for “completing” my pool and patio. I would have to reach out to Summerhill after weeks of waiting to see when the next step would be done or an issue I’d brought up would be addressed; later when I started asking about fixes more frequently AFTER NO RESPONSE, I was labeled as badgering. Many issues to be fixed never were addressed at all—repositioning a control box off a fence to be torn down, fixing extremely uneven step & bench in spa, painting all steps, evening out astroturf dip, etc. The pool was never marked prior to the dig, so after discovering immediately during digging it was too close to the house, I had to pay thousands extra for a re-dig. My steps in and around the pool and patio are all noticeably different heights, unlike the blueprints. The original steps from the pool ledge to pool were so steep and shallow, you’d have to turn sideways and step down 14+”. A third step added after the fact to fix that issue is now invisible and the cause of stubbed toes from every visitor. A pool tile falls out every few weeks and the tile job is extremely messy in several areas. It’s not picky stuff (like Summerhill says), it big stuff that everyone notices. I’m also happy to let anyone come see my pool install with missing tiles, cracked sides and large black streaks & many leaves in the concrete. “That’s just how concrete is” per Summerhill. But that’s not how every other patio I’ve ever seen is; it may help you to see what they consider acceptable. There is paint on the Astro-turf after painting, there are chips in the surrounding tiles never fixed. My pool equipment would shut down or misread temp for the first 3 months and had to be manually controlled or rebooted constantly during that time. On my sixth complaint about the equipment, I dared to call the equipment “second-rate” in an email. That issue was fixed from walking through 4 steps sent by email. Not sure which issue I tried fixed it (adding water, rebooting, etc.), but i was then charged for a visit for the first time—I had requested someone come out before they sent all the troubleshooting options, but I was never informed of a service charge. The company owner, Mark, was so offended by my “second-rate” terminology & request not to pay the service charge I wasn’t informed of (and likely not wanting to have to fix any more Summerhill mistakes), he said we should part ways and Summerhill would not honor my warranty anymore! I had a final payment I was to use and figure out how to get help from other companies. So my well over 6-figure investment got me a $0 warranty! Also, many other companies won’t guarantee their work on another company’s install-especially when they see all these mistakes. I have built homes and done major reno projects and never had a bad or worse experience with so little support or understanding from a company. The designer, Bryce, washes his hands of any responsibility early on and is extremely insulted about any problems found with his designs. Jacob (PM) also lied to the owner stating he’d answered questions he had not. I also spoke with a couple other customers while viewing Summerhill pools that had complaints. I think this company has just been lucky that the complaints don’t get shared online like the few positive reviews do. The owner actually asked me to sign something stating I wouldn’t post a negative review. This was my highest of four quotes and the most disappointing experience i could imagine. More expensive definitely does not always mean better.

Long review long; We recently bought a 100 year old house in Dallas and wanted a pool (how do people live here without one?), though we weren’t sure how possible that would be in a smaller yard with a centuries worth of Dallas utilities buried throughout it. We (like you probably are right now….) did our research and reached out to about a dozen pool companies. Most we found online but, in addition to their great online reviews, Summerhill was referred to us by a friend; always a good sign.

Some companies didn’t even reply as I’m sure they weren’t up to the challenge of putting a salt water pool oasis in the back yard of a 100 year old craftsman. Others came out and had their own ideas of what we should do. Bryce, fromSummerhill, came out and listened to what we wanted, added his own expert knowledge and came up with an amazing design that combined all of it. The bid process alone was impressive, compared to others and, while they weren’t the cheapest, they weren’t the most expensive either. We knew, if we were going to go all in, we were going to do it with Summerhill. Probably the best decision we’ve made at this old house!

Fast forward a few months and Jacob, our project manager, and his team at Summerhill transformed our run down, old Dallas backyard into a spectacular salt water pool oasis that we are able to enjoy year round. The pool view alone from my kitchen window would be worthy, but nothing is better than lounging on the pool ledge, quiet night swimming in the deep end, or dunking our 12 year old son in a fierce game of pool basketball. It is perfect and all because we chose Summerhill.

Premier pool company.

We had Summerhill re-do our entire pool setup last year. Their work was for the most part good and they were the cheapest quote we got. The work took forever though. This was partly the fault of weather, but not entirely. Our 4 week estimate turned into 12. Months after completion, we had some issues which was more the fault of materials than their work, but getting them to come out and address repairs involved me having to send WAY too many follow up messages. Summerhill does decent work, but their project management and communication skills need a lot of improvement.

Pool being built in our neighborhood. This is the only pool (or fence) company in over 5 years that has shown a complete lack of respect for the community, HOA rules or nearby neighbors. This behavior has gone completely unchecked despite repeated requests from the HOA and the homeowners.

These guys are the best quality and have the experience and work to back up their solid reputation. Your pool is one of your biggest investments - not something you should be skimping on. We first went with them when we bought our house to resurface the pool. They weren't the cheapest bid we got but it was the one we felt the best about. We had a major problem five years later and Summerhill came through for us in a way that blew our minds. Our pool is absolutely beautiful and I cannot tell you how fateful our decision to go with them was. The do beautiful work. Highly recommend!

Summerhill Pools has serviced our pool for many years with weekly pool maintenance/chemicals and a refurbish/update due to cracks in the foundation. Although they were not the original builder, I regret that they were not! They are always on top of taking care of our pool needs and our very professional and fair! So glad to have Summerhill taking care of us!

From a practicality standpoint this is the only pool builder I’d recommend to anyone in East Dallas. No one else would even being to try estimate the extra “dig time” that we all knew would be required — well, because it’s called White Rock Lake for a reason. My pool was built well ahead of schedule and everything was done exactly to my specs. Small pool, no surrounding deck, dark bottom, stone surround; definitely not the everyday build. I couldn’t be happier.

They are not even. Expensive, but very quick to respond and repair any problems.

I had a rather complicated job involving a larger retaining wall, pool deck, and fencing. In spite of roadblocks from the city and engineering concerns, Summerhill completed the job to my satisfaction. I would absolutely recommend them for even the most challenging and complex jobs.

We did, and we could not be more pleased with our backyard oasis. It's fantastic quality, it fits exactly what we need it to in terms of ourselves and our children, and it looks like something out of a magazine. The folks at Summerhill were not only responsive during the construction, they have remained accessible and responsive to us for our questions and needs following the project completion. We are not just a "job" to them. They know us and appreciate us. For the amount of money a project like this takes, you better make sure that you trust and like the people whom you select to make it happen. I am so glad that we chose Summerhill!

Pool was finished 04/2017. Summerhill was upfront and straightforward with great communication. We are very happy with how our pool turned out.

A pool of this kind is a big investment but after the pool has been built you want to make sure the pool company stays on top of everything. I have to say that Summerhill Pools built us a beautiful pool with all the extras--BUT THE FOLLOW UP ON A SCALE OF 1-10 IS A 10. Any time anything needed taken care up it just took an email---and they showed up and fixed the problem. The follow up to me is as important as the quality of the pool---and Summerhill has been the best.

Summerhill Pools in Dallas is a class act, and I wish they served the Argyle Tx area. I spoke to Bruce Russell who was knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciate that he was upfront with saying that the ownership doesn't take on projects located outside of their area, because then they can't give the quality project management that the customer deserves. He also gave me his cell # in case I have questions in the future. How refreshing in the pool building business.

Still amazed that a decades old Dallas company can still retain its small-town feel of where even the Owner is always personally accessible to talk to. Summerhill Pools built our pool years ago and i can say we have had very little issues with the installation/quality and the only thing we have had to have done is a little maintenance!
